21ST CENTURY
Becoming representative
In 2018, mail-order period product company Pink Parcel launched “I’m On”, a campaign fighting period stigma, including a transgender model and activist Kenny Ethan Jones. The campaign gained international press as Kenny became the first transgender man to front a period campaign in history.
His inclusion jump-started a much-delayed, and often dismissed, conversation around transgender and non-binary experience of periods and brought about representation that had been sorely lacking in period campaigns in the decades prior.
